"His serial sexual adventures during the last seven years of his life should be understood as acts committed, not only in the service of pleasure, but against self-government of which decorum was the most visible symptom. His seductions were acts of anarchy."
The fascinating and turbulent life of the unrecognized Harry Crosby (and wife Caresse Crosby) who made enormous waves during the Lost Generation of American literature. The story is exciting, a page turner, but Wolffs incredible writing and interpretation completely raised the bar for my expectations of biographies.
I think about this book all the time.
